AN UNWELCOME VISITOR
HUSBAND ANNOYS WIFE SORROW COMES TOO LATE Harry Hope Balmain, aged 66, when in liquor pays visits to ms wife from whom he is separated. He won’t be round to see her again for 14 days. Balmain pleaded guilty at the Police -ourt to-day to charges of drunkenness and trespassing during the currency of a separation order. Mrs. Balmain said that her husband bad been in good positions, but lost them all through drink. When drunk, he called on her and she did not consider this fair to the three children she was struggling to bring up nicely. He had not paid regular maintenance and in June he had been warned for trespass. ‘What have you got to say?” said the magistrate, Mr. P. K. Hunt, to accused. "Only that I’m sorry,” he replied. "Fourteen days,” said the magistrate. Balmain looked bewildered as he left the dock.
