CONSOLIDATING SCHOOLS
FIVE IN ONE DISTRICT Mr. H. W. Wyllie, chairman of the Tokafiui School Committee, states that a proposal is being advanced in the Tukanui district for a consolidated school to serve the districts adjoining. There are five schools, viz., Korakonui, Waikiria, Te Kawa, Te Mawhai, and Ngahape, all within a radius of six miles of the Tokanui central site. It is felt that a conference of representatives from each district would be productive of much good, even if the project for a consolidated school was not favoured. If action is prompt and the conference favours the consolidation idea, the Auckland Board of Education may make provision for a larger school than the one for which tenders are now being called.
