POINT CHEVALIER
SAILING CLUB’S MEETING There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Point Chevalier Sailing Club last evening. The president, Mr. M. J. Coyle, occupied the chair. The annual report and balance sheet, as published yesterday, was adopted. Mr. Coyle said he considered the report was a very satisfactory one indeed. The club was possessed of a fine position on the waterfront, and, in his opinion, one of the finest in Auckland. He congratulated the club also on its good financial standing, and particularly on the result of the euchre tournaments and dances, which had returned a regular income of approximately £1 a week. The secretary stated that a gold medal had been offered by the crew of Ivy for presentation to the member securing the largest number of new members. The subscription was fixed at 3s for adults and Is 6d for juniors. The election of officers resulted: — Patron, Mr. H. G. R. Mason, M.P.; vicepatron, Mr. E. H. Davis; president, Mr. M. J. Coyle; vice-presidents, Mrs. W. Shearer, Sir James Parr, and Messrs. T. Courtenay, F. J. Rayner, W. Tugby, D. Thorpe. Spellman, F. C. Jordan, F. Brinsden, R. Spiers, W. Paget, W. Murray, J. Aggers, W. Wilkinson, E. Craddock, J. J. Seymour, P. B. Leah, Goodwin, E. IT. Foote, Molloy, Le Barr, J. Donald, and W. Shearer; commodore, Mr. W. R. Allen; vice-commodore, Mr. R. Holmden: rearcommodore, Mr. T. Tait; secretary, Mr. C. I. Spearpoint; assistant secretary. Mr. J. Cleal; treasurer, Mr. H. E. Buckley; clubhouse captain, Mr. Ken Gwilliam, with six assistants; auditors, Messrs. T. Courtenay and G. F. Dyson; hon. solicitor, Mr. F. C. Jordan; judge of races, Mr. Strong; starter and timekeeper, Mr. F. Dyson; general committee, Messrs. F. Dyson, R. Courtenay. T. Courtenay, K. Gwilliam, L. Harrop, H. Broadhead, TT. Bayliss, J. Reynolds, J. Strongman, E. Schude, A. Coyle, G. Dunne. The commodore and vice-commodore were appointed delegates to the Yacht and Motorboat Association. A finance committee was appointed, comprising the commodore, secretary, and treasurer. The appointment of handicapper was left over to the first general meeting.
