VICTORIA CRUISING CLUB’S 25TH YEAR

THE ANNUAL MEETING The annual report of the Victoria Cruising Club, the 25th in the club's history, presented at the annual meeting last evening, described the season as a most successful one. The club was in smooth water financially, remarked the patron, Mr. Ernest Bavis, who presided. For the 25th year Mr. Bavis was elected patron. Mr. Bavis returned feeling thanks. He hoped to get the Viking afloat again by the first week in October. He was proud of the way the club members comported themselves on the water, and the spirit of comaraderie among yachtsmen. Personally he counted time by the beginning and end of the yachting season. This was his 43rd sailing season. It was arranged that in all future club events the club’s flag should be flown at the masthead. Captain Finnis, of Bover, who brought the Thomas Bryan out from England, was present. He was elected a vice-president and asked to convey the club’ig fraternal greetings to the Bover Yacht Club, and to carry home to it the Victoria Cruising Club’s pennant. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. E. H. Bavis; vice-patron, Mr. E. R. Bavis; president, Mr. W. L. Casey; vice-presidents, same as last year; commodore, Mr. E.
