HUSBANDHOOD DENIED AN IDENTITY DISPUTE John William Hope, who denies that he is the Husband of the woman alleged to be his wife appeared at the Police Court today. I-lope was charged with being £IGO in arrears on a maintenance order. Mr. J. J. Sullivan, in applying for a remand until to-morrow, said that Hope persisted in his statement that he was not the woman’s husband. The order was made at Sheffield, England, and had been enforced in New Zealand. The case had been taken up by Scotland/ Yard, and inquiries had been made by the New Zealand Justice Department. “He’s been sent to gaol on this order,” said Mr. Sullivan, “and he’s surely a in the matter.” The case was adjourned until tomororw.
