Cook, general secretary of the New Zealand Workers’ Union, who came on to Auckland yesterday aft. : his visit on Sunday to the scene oi the recent labour troubles. The men wanted an end to intern dissensions, and now, with an execu tive elected, would be able to conduct the activities of the union branch without any outside interference. On Sunday a conference to adjust, several 1 important matters was neld with the Sir W. G. Armstrong Whitworth Company. As the outcome of the meeting, at which the new executive was elected, the alleged victimisation of several men is also being inquired into. The question of a secession of labourers from the New Zealand Workers’ Union was now all past history, said Air. Cook. The Arbitration Court would not allow it.
