CABLE LINK
PENROSE TO KING’S WHARF REPORT OF PROGRESS The cable link between King’s Wharf and Penrose sub-station is progressing satisfactorily in spite of unfavourable weather. The Auckland Power Board’s general manager, Air. R. H. Bartley, reported to the board yesterday that it was now half-way up Ascot Avenue, Remuera. The jointing was making slow progress, nine jointers being employed. No tests have yet been made, but when erecting on the tripircating boxes on the Penrose end was begun the first section could be tested. The members of the board made an inspection of the work yesterday afternoon.
