GIRLS’ BRANCH OF NAVY LEAGUE

A BRIGHT DANCE On Friday evening the girls’ branch of the Navy League held a dance in the Navy League rooms, Customs Street, when the ships’ companies of H.M.S. Dunedin and H.M.S. Diomede were entertained. A large number of dancers were present and an enjoyable time was spent. During the evening Mrs. Ifwersen, president of the girls’ branch, accepted on behalf of the members, a framed protograph of H.M.S. Diomede, bearing a silver tablet suitably inscribed. This was the gift of the ships’ company of H.M.S. Diomede, as a token of appreciation of the efforts of the girls’ branch of the Navy League in entertaining the men during their stay in port.
