ONEHUNGA POULTRY SHOW

PRIZES PRESENTED On Saturday evening Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.P., presented the prizes won at the Onehunga Poultry Club’s show, and in doing so mentioned the fact that there were 1,081 poultry-keepers in the borough. In expressing an opinion of the exhibits Mr. W. A. Hanson declared that on the whole they were good, especially the American Leghorns, Silver Wyandottes and Rhode Island Reds, while there was a first-class display of white Indian Runner ducks. The Minorcas and English Leghorns, however, were not up to the standard of last year. Mr. E. G. Jarritt, Government poultry instructor, referred to the benefit of competition and looked upon the recent show as quite successful. Regret was expressed by Mr. J. Simpson that more canaries had not been shown.
