THE prospect of an afternoon of good secondary school football attracted a large attendance at Eden Park o Saturday. Although the two principal fixtures were uti cloubtedly full of interest to supporters of various schools the football provided was not up to secondary school standard
supporters were present in full force, both stands and also the embankment being well occupied when the “curtain-raiser,** Sacred Heart College v. Mount Albert Grammar School commenced at two o’clock. School colours were well in evidence, good-natured partisanship also making itself felt in the school songs and hakas which were given with considerable zest at frequent intervals throughout the afternoon. In the first game Sacred Heart College disposed of Mount Albert Grammar more easily than the scox-e 6—4 indicates. The collegians, particularly in the closing stages, having decidedly the best of the game, and also being responsible for most of the open play- . , , .
