AVONDALE-AUCKLAND AMALGAMATION

Sir, — I heartily endorse the remarks of “Worker” in THE SUN. It is not only the landowner but every ratepayer who will benefit by amalgamation. Our rates are now far more than on the average dwelling in Point Chevalier. And what have we got? Nothing but mud everywhere. What our rates in New Windsor Road and St. George’s Road will be next year, when we are rated on the new sewer loan, goodness only knows —at least 3d or 4d more in the £. I strongly advise every elector if he wants Avondale to progress as it should, to vote for amalgamation. ANOTHER WORKER.
