HUNTLY RETURNED SOLDIERS
ANNUAL MEETING The -annual general meeting of the Huntly branch Of the Returned' Soldiers’ Association was held in the clubroom on Thursday evening. The vicepresident. Mr. W. Bullough, presided. There was a good atendanpe of members. The report of the activities of the branch disclosed that a good deal had been done during the past year, the erection of a cefiotaph to fallen comrades being one of the big undertakings. The social aspect, owing to the association having no permanent room, was not very prominent. However, now that the association has the use of the board-room in the town hall once every week, this side of the association’s activities should be well catered for during the coming year, The election of officers for the coming year was as follows:—President, Mr. W. Bullough; vice-president, Mr. R. S. Caldwell; secretary, Mr. J. Porteous; committee, Messrs, Greemvell, Aston, Pascoe, Elliott, Montalk, Wallace and Penman. The business over, the rest of the evening was devoted to amusement, and mucli good talent was disclosed.
