DEPUTATION TO MR. COATES RADIO MATTERS DISCUSSED Press Association. WELLINGTON, Thursday. Mr. T. W. Owen, president of the Wellington Radio Society, and Mr. R. Leslie Jones, waited on the Prime Minister to-day and discussed important questions concerning broadcasting. Mr. Owen said that 2YA had proved in London to be an excellent set, and was considered by many equal to 2LO It would be an excellent thing to aim at as a high standard of transmission as that of 2LO. Mr. Jones referred to the question of the advisory board, which had not functioned for 12 months. It was contended to be essential that an expert radio engineer should be engaged immediately to supervise the four New Zealand stations.
Mr. Coates promised to have the matters looked into.
