NORTH SHORE UNION
BOROUGH AMALGAMATION “TIME NOT YET COME” Although the Birkenhead Borough Council does not think the time has yet come for the . union of the four North Shore boroughs, it does think that the first step of amalgamating Birkenhead and Northcote should now be taken. The Mayor, Mr. E. G. Skeates, said that the council had already decided unanimously that the time for the complete union had not arrived. Mr. A. Hadfield said that until Birkenhead and Northcote united, little progress could be made with the bigger scheme.
