VISITORS FINAL MATCH AUCKLAND TEAM CHOSEN The Auckland representative Association Football team to play Canada at Bland ford Park on Saturday afternoon was announced by the sole selector, Mr. A. P. Neesham, at a meeting of the Management Committee of the A.F.A. held last evening. The team is as follows: Goal, Batty (Tramways); backs, Gerrard (North Shore), Reid (Thistle); halves, Carter (Thistle), Christie (Thistle), Dickson (Thistle); forwards, Innes (Ponsonby), captain, Dunsmore (Thistle), Spencer (Tramways), Miles (Navy Depot), Humphreys (Y.M.C.A.), Reserves: Lyon (Northcote), Wright (Ponsonby). It was the feeling of the meeting that the team chosen was the best one that could be chosen. Mr. Neesham stated that he had made Innes captain, as he was one of the few New Zealand-born boys playing. The selected players will meet at Blandford Park at 7.30 p.m. to-mor-row. WHANGAREI CHALLENGERS HOCKEY PROVIDES CURTAINRAISER (From Our Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, To-day. The selectors of the North Auckland Football Association (Messrs. Mills, Ackers and Coles) announce the following team to represent the district against the Canadians at Kensington Park, Whangarei, on Thursday: Goal, Newton; fullbacks, Taylor, Hellens; halves. Mills, Rodgers (captain). Keating; forwards, Caldwell. Wilson, Ackers, Patrick, Hazell. Reserves: Kirkley, Hellens. Referee, Mr. R. Xesbit (Hikurangi); linesmen, Messrs. H. Fearnley and J. Donnelly (Whangarei). The Hockey Association will provide a curtain-raiser between the representative team which was runner-up in the country week tournament at Auckland and a team selected from the rest.
