STUMBLED INTO SULPHURIC ACID

A SHOCKING DEATH INEBRIATED MAN’S FATE (Special to THE SUN.) WANGANUI, To-day. THE mystery concerning the shockingly painful death of William Connors at the Wangaehu Dairy Factory last week, by being burned extensively with sulphuric acid, was cleared up at the inquest to-day. Deceased apparently went to the factory when under the influence of liquor. There was no electric light in the testing room, where a jar containing about four gallons of sulphuric acid was kept. Connors had either fallen over it, or had picked up the jar and let it drop, as the bottom was smashed out, and then have fallen. There were signs that he had been lying in the acid. The medical evidence was that death was due to shock following extensive acid bums. A verdict to this effect was returned accordingly.
