ST. GEORGE’S GIRLS’ GUILD
PRESENTATION TO MISS LANG I Last week, when the St. George’s j Girls’ Guild met at the Vicarage, Papatoetoe, the president, Miss Lang, was the recipient of a handsome present from the members of the guild, as a token of the high esteem in which she is held. On behalf of the members, Miss Thorne presented the guests with a beautiful tortoiseshell brush and comb and a dainty box of perfume, and eulogised the services that had been ren- ; dered to the club by their president, who by hard work and conscientious labours had helped the guild to reach ; and maintain the high standard of effij ciency that it now held, and they one and all hoped that she would see her way clear to continue her good work on behalf of the club. Miss Lang, who is leaving the vicarage on the marriage of the Rev. Davis, suitably responded, saying that all her labours had been a pleasure, and only hoped that she would be able to continue the work if it was for the good of the guild, and wished the club and its members all sorts of good luck for the future.
