ATTEND CHURCH SERVICE The Papatoetoe Troop of the GirlGuides paraded under Patrol Leader Miss D. Barton, yesterday and attended divine service at the Papatoetoe Methodist Church, where the Rev. P. Greenwood delivered an address appropriate to the occasion. GUIDES AND SCOUTS GIVE DANCE AT BIRKENHEAD On Saturday evening, in the Victoria Hall, Birkenhead, a most successful dance was given by the local troops of Girl Guides and Boy Scouts. That their combined effort met with the enthusiastic support of their young friends was obvious by the good attendance. Everybody had a very enjoyable time, and the evening went with a real swing. BROOMS If brooms are soaked in a strong solution of salt and water before being used they will last much longer.
