LICENSES GRANTED

MANY TRAINERS AND JOCKEYS REFUSED WELLINGTON, To-day. The New Zealand Racing Conference has decided to grade trainers into two divisions recognised trainers, and those with one horse. The latter will be granted provisional licences. Provisional licences have also been Framed to those who have both a jockey and a trainer's licence in the Auckland district. Provisional trainers’ licences have been granted to the following:—Amos, H. Barr, L. Booth. C. Buckenriam. H. J. Clark, R. Conway, H. B. Cpwan. W. Donaldson (three months* ; J. W. Dufty (three months). W. Gough. H. P.. Hastedt. M. Hennessy, H. Jury, G. Laing. R. W. Lewis. C. F. Mallowes, K. H. Martin, W. H. Mobberley. A. McArthur (three months), F. \V. McCabe, C. McKenzie, W. .T. McLean. F». G. Batterson, W. A. Ryan, F. Tong;. C. if* Whale (three months), C. J. Wyatt,

T. P. Langmuir, A. Tinker and E C. Rae. The licences of H. Eva. A. Rhodes, J. Fletcher, W. A. McMillan and J T. Young were refused. In connection with jockeys’ licences in the Auckland district, the applications of H. Goldfinch and B. Deeley were refused. E. Ludlow, A. Tinker, K. Warner, A. Harris and L. Munson were granted three months’ conditional licences. All other applications for licences from Auckland, both in regard to trainers, jockeys and apprentices, were approved. .
