TAURANGA BOROUGH COUNCIL

There was a full attendance of members at the meeting of the Tauranga Borough Council on Wednesday evening, the Mayor, Mr. B. Dive, presiding. The question of procuring a metal crusher was left with the Works Committee with power to act. Tenders for the supply of metal were referred to the works committee.

The Beautifying Society submitted a report on tree-planting in various streets in respect to which the council is making a grant of £4O. The report was adopted. A favourable hearing was given to a deputation from the Chamber of Commerce re the erection of public conveniences in the town.

Proposals for further improving the waterfront were adopted.
