TAURANGA POWER BOARD

SUCCESSFUL OPERATIONS The secretary of the Tauranga Power Board submitted a comprehensive report on the financial working for the year to the last meeting. It was shown that the total number of consumers at March 31, was 738, an increase of 269, the increase of consumption being jin average of 1734 per consumer. The total amount of revenue received was £16,229. The loan of £IIO.OOO had been spent in construction and installation work, and this was practically finished. Comparative statements were set out which showed that the board compared most favourably with older boards. After allowing for depreciation of £1,722 and a debit balance of £ 1,435 from last year, the balance sheet disclosed a credit of £l5O. While he could not recommend any reduction in tariff charges this year, yet he was confident, from the satisfactory position of the finances and the prospects for the coming year, there would not be any rate struck.
