PROPHETESSES TRINKETS NO SECRETS REVEALED By Cable. —Press Association. — Copyt'ight Reed. 12.50 p.m. LONDON. Monday. A mysterious box belonging to the prophetess. Joanna Southcott, which was sealed for 113 years, was opened at Church House. Westminster, in the presence of Bishop Grantham, who described the procedure as unilluminating. The first object, was a book dated 1796 and entitled “Surprises of Love, or an Adventure in Greenwich Park ' Other contents were a dicebox. old pistol, pair of earrings, coins, sundry books, only one requiring study, a diary of the year 1715 with written notes. Followers of Joanna present ridiculed the whole proceedings. They admitted that the box was hers, but denied that it is the box containing the plan for the salvation of England, which is in a secret hiding place and will be opened only in the presence of 24 bishops.—A. and N.Z.
