A PRESENTATION

Tlie Mayor of Northcote, Mr. A. E. Greenslade, was called upon to perform a very pleasant duty last night at the Onewa Pieturedrome, when he presented Mr. George White with a beautiful set of cutlery on behalf of the plumbers and licensed drainers of Northcote and Birkenhead. Mr. White has occupied the position of health inspector for the North Shore far some years, during which time it has been his duty to inspect all sanitary work. He is now leaving Auckland to take up duties at Thames. Messrs. Lawson, Lidgard and Qaeenin represented the plumbers and drainers of the district, and Mr. Greenslide in making the presentation on their behalf- expressed the good wishes of the local residents for Mr. White’s future welfare. Mr. White responded and thanked all those friends who had thought so highly of his past services to the district.
