NORTHCOTE THEATRE
The seating capacity of the new hall known as the Onewa Pieturedrome was taxed to overflowing last night when it was officially opened by the Mayor of Northcote, Mr. A. E. Greenslade.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Greenslade commended the enterprise of Messrs. E. J. Frazer and Company, stating that this firm had backed its great and unbounded faith in the future of Northcote by a substantial Jlnandial outlay. Not only would the hall afford facilities for public meetings, social functions, pictures, etc., but it added to the appearance of the main street and was likely to prove of great service to the borough. Mr. Greenslade further stated that most of the work on the building had been carried out by local firms, and reflected great credit upon them. In declaring the hall duly opened, he expressed the hope on behalf of the people of Northcote that the greatest success would attend the new venture. The building includes a commodious garage and service station for the W ii,f us and Transport Company, S®,*' eII - a P p olnt ; ed shops, and a large theatie which can also be converted mto a dancing hall.
