TAKAPUNA’S PROGRESS

The annual meeting of the Takapuna Bowling Club was held on Wednesday, Mr. J. W. Hayden presiding. The chairman, in his report, referred to the excellent work achieved in the making of the new green, and the building of the fine new pavilion. The clubs finances were in a healthy position. Tne winners of the various competitions held during the season were presented with trophies as follow:—Champion singles. Mr. C. Cutler; runner-up, Mr. B Codd. First year champion, Mr. J. Robinson. Handicap singles, Mr. A. Price. The following officers were elected.— President, Mr. G. H. Mathews; vicepresidents. Messrs. F. Audley and P. Coulthard; committee, Messrs. J. Hayden, F. A. Smith, A. Hooper and C. Cutler; match committee, Messrs. G. Boulton, M. Galbraith and J. Brake; sole selector. Mr. G. Boulton; secretary and treasurer. Mr. N. Veale; club reporter, Mr. C. F. Perfect; auditor, Mr. F. J. Robertshaw; delegates to centre, Messrs. G. H. Mathews and F. Audley; coach, Mr. J. Brake: umpires, Messrs. F. Audley, B. Codd, J. Brake, A. Hooper and J. Hayden. It was decided to enter six teams in the pennant competition held by- the Auckland Centre, but not to compete in the champion rink competition. A resolution was carried urging the importance of daylight saving.
