BENEFIT CONCERT
MADAME GITTA ALPAR Madame Gitta Alpar will be tendered a grand farewell concert by leading Auckland artists in the Town Hall on Thursday evening. The concert will be under the patronage of the Rotary Club and the principal musical organisations of Auckland. Madame Alpar has been left in straitened circumstances through the recent tragic death of her husband, and the concert is to raise funds to enable her to return to her people. Madame Alpar will sing Hungarian folk-songs and items will be given by Madame Towsey, Misses Margaret Stoddart, Balia Hem us, Mavis Grevatt, Raie Robinson, Dorothy Youd, Mrs. Humphrey Stewart, Messrs. Cyril Towsey, Eric Waters, Ernest Snell, Barry Conev, the Rev. Jasper Calder and the Eyrie Four (Messrs. Ripley. Richards, McElwain and Thomas). Miss Daphne Knight’s pupils will dance.
