R.S.A. CONFERENCE

OPENED AT WELLINGTON Press Association. WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The eleventh annual conference of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association opened in the Town Hall to-day, Sir Andrew Russell presiding over a full attendance of delegates. - The Mayor, Mr. G. A. Troup, expressed appreciation of the honour of being asked to open the proceedings, and congratulated the association on Paderewski's offer of a concert to assist out-of-work returned soldiers. Mr. Miller, Auckland, was allowed to attend and take part in the conference as representing the limbless soldiers, but without a vote. Various sub-committees were appointed to deal with remits, etc., and the conference adjourned till to-mor-row. A reunion is being held to-night.
