BOOKBINDERS

AWARD FOR FEMALE WORKERS A conciliation council met yesday to consider fresh terms in respect to female workers in the bookbinding industry. A complete agreement was reached with slight modifications of the present award. The hours of work are reduced from 45 to 44 a week. Other slight amendments have been made to the ordinary working clauses. The new conditions will come into operation at the same time and extend to the same date as the Dominion printers’ award.
