Wife Deserted After 20 Years

A WOMAN IN THE CASE Stating that her husband had gone to Australia in 1923 and had not sent for her as promised, Isabel Lewis (Mr. Beckerleg) applied before Mr. Justice Reed this morning for a dissolution of her marriage with Alfred Samuel Lewis.

Petitioner said that her husband had promised to send her the money to enable her to follow him. He did not do so, however, and she now knew that he had no intention of doing so. She had discovered afterwards that he had left the country with another woman. Petitioner stated that they were married in Australia in February, 1903, and had come to New Zealand in 1904, her husband establishing a wood and coal business in Wellesley Street. A decree nisi to be made absolute within three months was granted.
