ADULTERATED LIQUOR

A SERIOUS OFFENCE Press Association. WELLINGTON, Monday. At the annual meeting of the Licensing Committee, the chairman, Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., dealing with the police report said the conduct generally was satisfactory, but there had been three prosecutions for selling adulterated liquor. ‘‘The committee regards the offence of adulterating liquor as a very serious one, which if continued, would warrant the cancellation of the licences of the particular licencees, who indulge in the practice. The public must be protected. Licencees are expected to sell good liquor of standard brands, and should not make a profit by means of adulteration.”
