OVERCOATS LOST FROM CABARETS

THEFT CHARGE FAILS Press Association. WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Thomas David A. Draper, aged 35, was charged in the Magistrate’s Court to-day with the theft of an overcoat valued at £6, the property of James Cornwell, also the theft of a coat and a pair of gloves valued at £7, belonging to Albert E. Wishart, from the Adelphi Cabaret. The overcoat was discovered at Kilbirnie Cabaret, a concealed policeman watching accused claim it. The magistrate, Mr. E. Page, S.M., without calling on the defence held that, although of a suspicious nature, the evidence just fell short of proof. He would not convict, and dismissed the case.
