TIMBER CHIEF
OFF TO MELBOURNE CLUB MEMBERS FAREWELL Members of the Auckland Club are arranging a farewell to their president, Mr. Joseph Butler, who has been appointed managing director of the Kauri Timber Company at Melbourne. For the past 13 years Mr. Butler has been Auckland managing director for the company. He will sail on Friday from Auckland to take up his new position. For 2'6 years Mr. Butler has lived in the vicinity of Auckland. He has been associated with the timber trade all his life. Mr. Butler is a member of the Rotary and Savage Clubs, and has been identified with other Auckland organisations. He will be much missed in city circles. The Melbourne appointment is brought about by the retirement on account of ill-health of Mr. F. H. Wilson, the chairman of directors. His position is being taken by Mr. George Lush, the present managing director in Melbourne. Another change has been made necessary through the resignation, for reasons of health, of Mr. Harvey Patterson, who has been a director for a number of years. The vacancy is being filled by Mr. J. R. Bishop, a son of one of the present directors.
