MOTOR REGULATIONS
NEW ADMINISTRATION PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT (From Our Resident Correspondent .) WELLINGTON, Monday. It is expected that some announcement will shortly be made to the effect that the administration of all motor regulations will be placed in the hands of the Public Works Department. Hitherto the Internal Affairs Department has administered the Motor Vehicles Act and construction, as well as the Omnibus Act, and highways matters have been dealt with by the Public Works Department. The result was overlapping and dual control. It is anticipated that with the system solely in the charge of the Public Works Department, the public as well as the department will find it efficacious, because there is a great deal of confusion at the present time as to the administration of the respective branches.
