OHURA COUNTY FINANCE

A statement presented to the Ohura County Council gives the following interesting details of the county’s position as at the end of the financial year:—Receipts for the year ended March 31, 1927: General and special rates, £9,739 3s 3d; loans, £2,854 5s 6d; Government grants and subsidies, £10,619 13s sd; licences, £277 6s lOd; miscellaneous, £606 13s lid; land fund, £1,402 10s 3d; total, £25,499 13s 2d. The expenditure amounted to £23,693 3s 2d.

The present hospital levy on the county has been apportioned as follow’s by the Taumarunui Hospital Board: Maintenance, £1.622 16s sd; capital, £73 15s 4d; total, £1,696 11s 9d.
