A SUCCESSFUL EVENING

FRENCH CLUB’S SESSION The Auckland French Club held its second session of the season last evening. Mrs. Robinson, Miss Lloyd and Mr. Norman Watson gave several instrumental trios. Miss Evelyn Ivory sang “L’Ete (Chaminade) and “L’Adieu du Matin” (Pessard). M. Paul Serre, the French Consul and president of the club, contributed a comic song. Miss Jean Chauvel recitations, Miss Dorothy Richardson a classical dance, Mr. Norman Watson violin solos and Miss Ivy Greenwood a piano solo.* The second part of the programme consisted of a little comedy, “Madame Porc-Epic or Madame Porcupine,” in which the roles were taken by Misses Lola Musseler and Guthrie, and Messrs. G. H. Bassant and D. W. Faigan.
