WINTER EXHIBITION

PREPARATIONS WELL IN HAND Preparations for the Auckland Winter Exhibition, which is to be held in the Central Wharf sheds from July 21 to 30, are well in hand, and the fixture promises to be an even greater success than that of last year. Although booking only commenced at the beginning of this week, about onethird of the floor space has been taken up already. The Central Wharf sheds are said to be much more convenient than those on Prince’s Wharf, which were used last year. The whole of the space being on the ground floor made the arrangement of the exhibition much easier, while the lofty j-oofs of the central sheds would permit decorations which were impossible under the low ceilings at the other wharf. Most of the side-shows will be under the verandahs, and tenders will be called for the space. There will probably be many more working exhibits than hitherto, and these were always popular. The centre portion of the space between the four sheds will be roofed over to allow of convenient passage between them. District courts will occupy a prominent position, and it is anticipated there will be keen competition following the great success of this feature last year and the interest aroused in it.
