NORTH AUCKLAND PRICES Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Whangarei, report having held their usual monthly stock sales at the following centres:— Pakotai, May 9.—There was a good yarding of good-quality bullocks, with competition fair. Other classes of cattle sold at late rates. A line of good-quality three-year steers, on account A. Wright, sold at £5 14s; fouryear steers, £5 10s to £6; three-year steers, £4 lfis to £5 14s: two and a-half year steers, £4 10s; two-year steers, £2 15s; forward cows, £2 17s 6cl to £3; stags, £2 17s 6d; bulls, £3. Maungakaramea, May 10—There was a fair yarding of cattle. Competition for beef was dull. All other classes sold under fair competition at slightly below late rates. Fat heifers made £4 Is to £4 6s; fat cows, £4 10s to £4 ISs; fat runners, £2 10s to £2 15s: two and a-half year steers, £4; inferior sorts, £2 15s to £3; one-year steers, £1 9s; cows and calves, £4 to £4 15s: speved cows. £2 16s; store cows, £1 10s to £2 10s; two-year Shorthorn heifers, £2 6s; bulls, £3; fat ewes, 20s; empty cull ewes. Ss 9d; m.s.w. lambs, 13s. GOOD DEMAND FOR CATTLE The North Auckland Farmers’ Cooperative, L ; td., Whangarei, report holding the usual monthly sale at Maungakaramea on May 10. A good yarding of all cattle came forward, and practically all lines changed hands at late rates. Light fat steers made £6 10s to £7; heavy fat cows, £5 2s to £5 17s 6d: medium, £4 5s to £4 15s; light, £3 10s to £4; boner cows, £2 10s to £3 10s; store cows, 35s to -£2 ss. A line of 50 18-months steers, from Mr. J. Sloane, Omana, realised £3 12s 6d; yearlings, £2 11s: steer oalves, 30s to 355; heifer calves, £1; bulls, £3 to £3 ss; dairy cows and heifers, close to profit. £4 5s to £7 ss; backward, £3 to £4.
