PRICES IN LONDON

REVIEW OF THE MARKET N.Z. PRODUCE FIRM Exceptionally fine quality Siberian butter is at present meeting with a good demand on the London market. Production generally on the Continent registers a large increase with the passing of winter and the market is weak. The drop in Danish butter on the English market is due largely, according to a recent London cable, to a change in seasonal feeding, resulting in irregular quality. The demand for New Zealand produce is steady and cheese is firmer. Last week’s allocation of 90,000 boxes is reported cleared. Under date May 7 the Department of Agriculture advises the following official range of prices: BUTTER New Zealand.—Salted, May 7. 152 s to 154 s per cwt.; April 30, 1545.
