WILL THERE BE A BY-ELECTION?

The defeat of Messrs. T. Bloodworth and J. A. Warnoek, who have in the past rendered considerable assistance to the City Council, and the fact that so far as Mr. Bloodworth is concerned the citizens had the opportunity in the Harbour Board eloction to show that his services were highly appreciated, has caused a discussion in Auckland thia morning on the possibility of a member of the City Council retiring and allowing the electore an opportunity of retaining these services. Discussing the matter this morning one of the prominent Labour advocates said he did not think there would be any such action, owing to it being questionable whether the better service rendered by any alteration would be justified by the expense of a by-election.
