ELECTIONS ELSEWHERE Press Association telegrams gin the following mayoralty election results:— New Plymouth.— Mayoralty: F. E. Wilson was unopposed. Five old members of the council were defeated. Waitara. —Mayoralty: E. A. George defeated R. Morgan (sitting mayor). Palmerston North. —Mayoralty: A. J. Graham, 2,476; R. Edwards, 1,175; A. & Bennett, 853. Masterton. —Mayoralty: T. Jordan (reelected), 1,601; A. Rippon, 687. Napier. —Mayoralty: J. Vigor Brown defeated J. B. Andrews, retiring mayor, by 60 votes. Wanganui.—Mayoralty: W. J. Rogers, 2,879; Hope Gibbons (retiring mayor), 2,728. Mr. Rogers was a Labour candidate. Gisborne. —Mayoralty: C. E. Armstrong, 2,446; D. W. Coleman, 1,672. Oamaru. —Mayoralty: Frank Crawshaw, 1,557; W. H. Frith, 961. Timaru. —Mayoralty: G. J. Wallace (reelected), 2,389; W. Angland, 2,028. Hastings. —Mayoralty: George Maddison. The retiring council members were re-elected, with the exception of two. The Wednesday half-holiday was retained by 1,665 votes to 704. Feilding. —Mayoralty: E. Fair elected unopposed. The unofficial Labour candidate was at the bottom of the poll. The electors, by 909 to 321 votes, reverted to the Wednesday half-holiday. Nelson. —Mayoralty: W. J. Moffatt, 1,518 votes, defeated W. Lock, sitting mayo:. I. Blenheim. —Mrs. F. Redwood, Blenheim’s woman councillor, was defeated a the municipal election, but was elected to the Hospital Board. Stratford. —Mayoralty: J. W. McMilto the sitting mayor, was elected by a sopstantial majority over ex-Counciilor Fidnerty. Dannevirke. —Mayoralty: A J. Ranciman was elected unopposed. Waimate. —Mayoralty; George Dwt sitting mayor, defeated William Evans t>. 538 to 422. Carterton. —Mayoralty: W. Fisher, J®* opposed.
