Waitara. —Mayoralty: E. A. George defeated R. Morgan (sitting mayor). Palmerston North. —Mayoralty: A. J. Graham, 2,476; R. Edwards, 1,175; A. & Bennett, 853. Masterton. —Mayoralty: T. Jordan (reelected), 1,601; A. Rippon, 687. Napier. —Mayoralty: J. Vigor Brown defeated J. B. Andrews, retiring mayor, by 60 votes. Wanganui.—Mayoralty: W. J. Rogers, 2,879; Hope Gibbons (retiring mayor), 2,728. Mr. Rogers was a Labour candidate. Gisborne. —Mayoralty: C. E. Armstrong, 2,446; D. W. Coleman, 1,672. Oamaru. —Mayoralty: Frank Crawshaw, 1,557; W. H. Frith, 961. Timaru. —Mayoralty: G. J. Wallace (reelected), 2,389; W. Angland, 2,028. Hastings. —Mayoralty: George Maddison. The retiring council members were re-elected, with the exception of two. The Wednesday half-holiday was retained by 1,665 votes to 704. Feilding. —Mayoralty: E. Fair elected unopposed.
