SEAMEN’S DISPUTE
CONFIDENCE IN OFFICIALS PORT AHURIRI DECISION Press Association. NAPIER, Tuesday. At a meeting of the Seamen’s Union at Port Ahuriri this morning the Wellington dispute was explained by Mr. F. P. Walsh, general president, Mr. T. F. Anderson, of Auckland, and Mr W. Clarke, of Dunedin. The meeting passed a unanimous vote of confidence in the present Dominion officials and endorsed the action of the executive in expelling Messrs. W. T. Young, F. C. Howell, C. B. Fittes, J. Payne and D. Currie. A further resolution was passed that in the event of Mr. Young going aboard ships in this port, which up to the present he has not done, members would treat him as bona-fide members of the union are called upon to treat expelled officials.
