TWO SCHOOLROOM FAVOURITES

BAKED BANANA PUDDING Line a greased pie- dish with fingers of bread and butter. Cover with a layer of skinned and quartered bananas; then another layer of bread and butter: thus filling the dish threeparts. Make a little cornflour (1 dessertspoonful to 1 pint of milk), add sugar, salt, a little lemon juice, and when slightly cool, 1 well-beaten egg. Pour over the dish and bake in a very moderate oven for one hour.
