AGED MINISTER HONOURED GIFT FOR DR. F. B. MEYER By Cable.—Press Association.-—Copyright LONDON, Saturday. The Rev. Dr. F. B. Meyer, a former president of the Baptist Union and of the National Federation of Free Churches, who is celebrating his eightieth birthday, received a cheque for £SOO from 500 of his admirers. Dr. Meyer also received a huge birthday cake and a portable wireless set.
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. R. T. Davidson, sent a letter saying: “You have years of precedence over myself. These days of eventide are solemn. I should like your fellowship in thought and prayer.”—-A. and N.Z.
