CLOSED GAMING-HOUSE
CASE FOR APPEAL COURT HEARING ON TUESDAY (Special to THE SUN.) CLOSED GAMING HOUSE. F CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. An appeal is to be made by Walter Hulston against the decision of his Honour Mr. Justice Adams in closing his premises at 171 and 173 Madras Street, declared a common gaming- — . .-w. The appeal will be heard by the Court of Appeal at Wellington on Tuesday. At the same time, application will be made to the Full Court for a recission of the order closing the premises. Mr. M. Myers and Mr. F. D. Sargent will represent Hulston, and Mr. Fair, Solicitor-General, and Mr. A. T. Donnelly will oppose the appeal. It is believed that the grounds for the appeal are hardship and interference with the ownership of the premises. The police applied for a declaration closing the premises from the court before Mr. Justice Adams on February 24, and on the following day judgment was given in their favour.
