The Assembly agreed upon the expediency of introducing a Pill allowing votes bv proxy at the general election to all soldiers at the front irrespective of age. The Hill provides that a soldier shall not vote for a candidate, but for Party. The Labor votes will be handed to Mr Hotmail, the Liberal vote:: to Mr Wade, a"d the Progressive to the Speaker, who will allot them to candidates. KEEPING UP REINFORCEMENTS. Melbourne September 13. Mr H'ugbes announced that the drafts of reinforcements to maintain five divisions at the front will be obtained in the States on a population basis. No State will be called upon to make up any deficiency in another State. PREFERENCE TO RETURNED SOLDIERS. Melbourne, September The Employers' Federation of Australia carried a motion recommending employers to give preference to returned soldiers, whether unionists or not.
