THE TONCARIRO ASHORE.
DANGEROUSLY EXPOSED POSITION. Per Press Association. Gisborne, August 31. Advice has been received by Mr H alia more, manager of the New Zealand Shipping Company, this afternoon that the vessel has not sunk, and is lying about two miles east from Ball Rock, and appears to be in a very dangerous position lying open to the sea and exposed to north-east winds. v The Koutunui is still standing by. i Another small vessel named the j Tuatu is approaching the vessel.
