On Friday, 26bh hist., at ray'Rahotu yards, 1 had a small entry of cattle, which, however, met an exceptionally good market, everything yarded Doing cleared at the hammer as'follows:—In calf heifers £6, empty heifers £3 -Is 6d, small weaner reifors 275, rough i\ed weaners £2 4s 6d, weaner steers £3 .14s (a record price), aged cows £3 to £6 2s 6d, store cows £5 14s to £6 12s 6d, forward cows.£7 12s 6d to £9 15s, rougn forward steers £4 19s, pullets p Gd.
On the same day, at Oabmii, I con ducted 'a dispersal sale on account of Mrs M. A. . Hills, who Inis soil! her farm. The attendance was large, I-id-ding throughout being very good. Aged ewes made from 10s 6d to 17s 9d, lambs 13s lOd, cows in calf, due September and October, and only in fair condition £5 5s to £8 15s.
On Monday, 29th, at Urenui, considering the very rough weather, stock came forward in good numbers. Mr Geo. Mann’s clearing sale, despite the very rough weather, there was a large attendance ’of the public, wil’i keen bidding throughout, a very satisfactory sale resulting. The cows wen very mixed, no dates being available. The young cows showing to he early calvers, sold from £lO 10s to £l6, others £8 5s to £9 ss, empty or late calvers £5 15s.
On Tuesday, 30th, ‘at Stony River, the. wet weather prevented a number of the advertised cattle from coming forward', but nevertheless there was a good entry, all of -which- met a ready sale. A record price for these yards was obtained for a prime Shorthorn fat heifer, sold on account of Mr W. Thomas, of Pnniho, which realised £l4. On Thursday last, June Ist, at Durham Road, for Mrs A. Langley’s clearing sale, there was a very large attendance and everything ottered met with a ready sale at very satisfactory prices. The cows were a- poor line, and in low condition, but made good prices, the
best being £9 Jss. Very aged cows and thin £2 5s to £5 ss, mixed ewes and lambs 275, yearling heifers £2 15s. At Waiwakaiho, on Friday, 2nd inst., there was a small yarding, all of which,however, was sold as follows: —Small weaners 23s Gd to 43s Gd, empty heifers £3 5s to £3 12s Gd, forward cows £7 5s to £8 17s Gd, store cows £5 3s Gd to £6 18s, small*-store cows £4 4s to' £4 12s Gd, bulls £7 10s, in calf heifers £5 10s, dairy cows £9 15s to i £l3 10s, springing heifers £7 to £9.
