In the House of Commons, Mr Asquith admitted German guns for the Ulster Volunteers which were imported in 1914 still remained in private possession. He was aware that it was officially, stated that gun-run-ning was a contributory cause of the rebellion. Mr duthwaite sought the immediate release of the rebels in view of the fact that the gun-runners were never prosecuted. Mr Asquith said steps were being taken to immediately release all the innocents, and this was proceeding at the rate of one hundred and fifty daily.
