NEWS FROM GERMAN SOURCES. ENEMY‘CLAIMS TO SUCCESS. [BNiTKn Press Association.] (Received 1:40 p.m.) Amsterdam, May 24. A German •’'communique states:— Strong English forces attacked our new positions in the sbuth-iVest ot Givenchy., A few penetrated, but fell in hand-to-hand fighting, and all attacks were repulsed with very great English losses. There were also small attacks at Lullnch,' Blaireville, and Thuringian. Our troops stormed and captured Cumieres village, making prisoners of three thousand of the enemy, who renewed attacks on the Douaumont sector and suffered the most severe losses. TVe regained ground almost eveijwhere. The fighting continues.
