AMUSEMENTS.
HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. "AN AFFAIR FOR THE POLICE.” Last night a splendid selection of pictures was shown at His Majesty’s Theatre, the chief item being Vitagraph Co’s, feature drama, "An• Affair for the Police.” The picture opens with a wedding party, and during the inspection of the presents a valuable diamond necklace is stolen. The guests are searched without result. The audience is then treated to a succession of scenes which depict New York society at play, and not until the last scene is the mystery solved. "The Shoal Light” is a capital nautical drama. The scene in which the heroine is rescued in mid-ocean being particularly sensational. The supplementary pictures are: "The Australian Gazette,” "Mud and Matrimony,” "Making Steel Rails,” "Rover, the Peacemaker,” and Keystone’s "Fatty’s Faithful Fido.” The programme will bo shown for the last time tonight.
